About No-Doodle

Click here to search the web with no doodles.

Welcome to No-Doodle, a tool to search the web with zero distractions. With a bare bones, simple, and never-changing user interface, No-Doodle transparently integrates into your work flow, rather than getting in your way. No-Doodle is ideal for those days where your work demands absolute concentration, and running into distracting animations or pictures is simply not an option.

Here are some extra tips to avoid doodles.

1) If you use google chrome as your browser and do not want to see doodles when you click the new tab button, simply go to settings, advanced, search engines, and then pick duckduckgo as your search engine (duckduckgo is not listed by default, click the button that shows extra engines.)

2) If you use chrome or firefox, install the Ad Block Plus extension and add the following blocking rules:
||google.com/logos/doodles
||google.com/logos/2016
||google.com/logos/2017

The 2016 and 2017 represent doodles created that year. That means that as every year goes by you will need to update the blocking rule. For example, when the year 2018 comes, just add another rule that says
||google.com/logos/2018

Note: Make sure you pick the authentic Ad Block Plus from the store as there are many fake (and probably risky) extensions that are similarly named. You will know the real Ad Block Plus because it is the one with several million downloads and has the adblockplus org listed as its homepage.

3) Use bing. By default bing will show distracting pictures in the background, but if you click this link bing will be configured to not show the distracting pictures.

4) Use the duckduckgo site. It is pretty good with a simple unobtrusive interface.
